Stacey Duchow, Director of Workforce Solutions from KTEC High School was our speaker. KTEC 4K – 8 program has been a part of KUSD since 2007 and in 2019 a lot of conversation took place as to expanding thru HS. She shared that a lot of planning went into “creating” KTEC HS during the pandemic. KTEC is based on the 3 C’s Character – Collective – Careers. Focusing on Self Awareness, social awareness, and career awareness & interest. They have created partnerships with Snap-On, Festo and Gateway.  KTEC high school is an independent charter school. Students will earn certification that align with competencies identified by local industry as been in high demand, preparing students for postsecondary education as well as graduating from high school workforce ready.  This is done by empowering students to develop a strong sense of character, understand how to function collectively within society, and be career and future focused.  Since it is an independent charter school, students will not have the option of music and sports, unless offered here at some point.  They are a tuition free charter school open to all 9th grade students in the State of WI. Spots are filled by a random lottery system.
